Bob Owens, President/CEO of Owens Realty Services and
Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer cut the ribbon at the opening of the
company's new corporate headquarters facility.

Today, Owens Realty Services unveiled its new 8,000 square foot corporate headquarters located at 1646 33rd Street, Orlando, FL  within the I-4 Commerce Center.  The company recently purchased the 24,000 square foot building for $1,825,000.  Investing an extra $1 million, Owens realty Services re-engineered the buildin's interior to acomodate additional offices.  The remainder of the facility will be leased to third-party tenants.

“We’re thrilled that the City of Orlando is now home to our corporate headquarters,” said Bob Owens, President/CEO of Owens Realty Services. “To support the local community, we invested in a struggling property that sat vacant since its completion in 2007. The building, located in Orange County Enterprise Zone – EZ4801, is perfect for our company and is allowing us to take advantage of a variety of refunds and tax credits for acquiring equipment, investing in building materials and creating jobs.”

The Enterprise Zone was created in 1982 by the State of Florida to encourage the retention and expansion of businesses within designated areas.  The Enterprise Zone is a geographic area defined by the City of Orlando and Orange County, and certified by the State of Florida, that is eligible for tax incentives and other benefits.  The 16.8 square mile EZ4801 zone includes portions of the City of Orlando, the Town of Eatonville and unincorporated Orange County.

"Enterprise Zones are a 'win-win' for businesses and the community," said Owens.  "I would like to see more companies take advantage of the benefits."

“This newly completed building will be a useful tool in revitalizing this area,” said Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. “Businesses that choose to locate and expand in an Enterprise Zone invest in our community and help spur further development and job opportunities.”

Rick Weddle, President & CEO of the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission, said, “I’m proud that the City of Orlando and the rest of our region provide a wide array of tools to help companies grow and expand. We’re glad that Owens Realty Services relocated their headquarters to Orlando.”

Currently managing close to $1 billion in real estate net worth, the Owens Realty Services portfolio includes a number of Central Florida properties, such as commercial/investment properties, high-rise residential complexes, public and private school systems, college & university campuses, state judicial facilities, government buildings, places of public assembly, and commercial and medical facilities.  The company employs approximately 1,000 real estate industry professionals within four states.

Offices are now available for lease within the Owens Realty Services building.
