On November 29, 2018, Bob Owens, President/CEO of Owens Realty Services, and a Give Kids the World Board of Directors member, with his daughter Isabelle Owens hosted a private cocktail party at the Allouche Gallery in the Meatpacking District of New York City. The event, now in it’s third year was held to support the Give Kids the World organization. (Pictured above from left to right: Isabelle Owens, Pamela Landwirth, Bob Owens)

Give Kids the World is a “storybook” nonprofit resort in Central Florida that provides week-long, cost-free vacations to children with critical illnesses and their families.

Pamela Landwirth, President and CEO of the Give Kids the World organization was in attendance and introduced Megan, a single-mother of a former wish child who visited the Village last year. Megan shared her family’s firsthand experience at the Village. There was not a dry eye in the gallery as Megan shared the lasting impact the Village had on all three of her children.

Also supporting the event was Jake Teitelbaum, a cancer survivor and founder of Resilience Gives. The company pairs patients with a designer to create unique socks that are sold to raise funds to help families offset the staggering cost of medical care. Guests at the fundraiser were given a pair of socks influenced by the magic of the Village.

Guests enjoyed a group exposition featuring Jean Michel Basquiat, Bast, George Condo, Ron English, Keith Haring, and Andy Warhol. They were then invited to participate in a silent auction, including items from the Orlando Magic, the New York City Ballet, Edie Parker, the Michelin starred Marea, The Greenwich Hotel, the New York Rangers and more. Perhaps the most notable auction item was provided by Ridgewood, NY based artist, Kelsey Tynik. Her work focuses on abstract painting and college. She created a diptych for auction inspired by the Give Kids the World Village. More than 50K was raised for the Give Kids the World organization.

Although Owens was the driving force behind the event, their team was supported by JLL, Delaware North, Mestdagh & Wall Attorneys, Boston Market Corporation, JCar and the Bankston Family, Chateau Restaurant Group, McGriff Insurance Services, and The Linares Family.
